Based on the community and family-oriented ethos of Cranleigh School, one of England’s leading independent schools founded in 1865, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi was opened on Saadiyat Island in September 2014.
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi’s educational philosophy is to foster independent learning, strong emotional intelligence and encourage lifelong learners. Alongside its focus on academic standards and success, it concentrates intensely on the individual, allowing students to explore their full range of talents in performance, art and design as well as in sporting and cultural activities. The school campus spans seven hectares and is designed to accommodate around 1500 students aged from 3 to 18 years. Sporting facilities include a large sports hall, separate gymnasium and dance studio. There are two shaded swimming pools (25m competition and 10m beginner), two grass pitches and a multipurpose outdoor court. Cranleigh Abu Dhabi was named New British International School of the Year 2017. |
NYU Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island campus is a pedestrian campus that combines traditional and modern architectural elements to reflect the University’s three identities: Abu Dhabi, New York, and the world.
Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the campus covers nearly 40 acres and promotes interaction between living and learning, research and teaching, and the disciplines, as well as faculty, students, and staff. Competitors and staff will stay on campus during the Games. Each school will be allocated a floor which comprises of triple en suite bedrooms and a common room for team briefings and announcements. |
